| This video contains information about some Italian highlights such as the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, the Coliseum, Florence's architecture, stunning Venice, Michaelangelo, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is interesting to find out about the impact of Italian agriculture on the world known Italian sumptuous cuisine.

Yeah I loved the video! It shows the main attractions of this beautiful country.
My friends and I will be in Florence from April 16-19 next year. On the 16th we will be coming in by train from Venice, probably in the late morning or early afternoon. Then we have 2 full days in Florence and then we leave on the 19th for Sorrento. My question is, what would be a good way to spend our (basically) 3 1/2 days in the area. Obviously, we plan on spending at least one full day in Florence, but we would love to see a little more of the Tuscan countryside and maybe some of the other hilltowns. Any recommendations would be appreciated as would any information on the best way to visit these places. I've thought about renting a car, but have heard so many scary things about driving in Italy, that public transportation seems better. |

Hi Pablo..
Italy has so many "top attraction" that are too numerous to be mentioned... Visiting Venice and Florence is a very good idea, they are two wonderful towns.. but what about Rome, and Pisa??
If your friends like the seaside I'd advice them to go and visit Puglia, where they can find the most beautiful coasts and maybe the cheapest hotels to stay in.. (Look for "Ostuni" in the web, and "Taverna della Gelosia", a very nice and not too expensive restaurant, where you can meet italian celebrities).
I've lived in Tuscany (in Pontedera, a small town near to Pisa, the city of the leaning tower) for almost a year.. In Pisa there Is a very nice b&b called "La Mimosa" in which I stayed for two weeks.. little prices, great breakfasts!
You seem to be scared about driving in Italy.. To sum up..No problem in northern Italy, some problem in central Italy.. many problems in southern Italy..
You are planning to go to Sorrento.. The "Costiera Amalfitana" is a very nice place but I'd suggest to ask a tour operator for a guided visit for those places because in a sunny week-end Sorrento and surroundings can be very hard to drive through..
If you decide to go and visit Puglia, ask me the way to go by, as I was born in Taranto (Puglia) and I've lived there until I was 30..
I hope you find my post helpful..
Hear you soon!! |

Hi, my name's Valentina and I'm from Italy.
The video is nice, if you stay in Italy for a few days, you must see most famous places as Venice or Florence. In Pisa there aren't many things to see, exception made for the Campo dei Miracoli and its Leaning Tower. Anyway, if you have time, it's nice to reach Pisa by train and enjoy the view of the countryside. If you're passionated to painting, don't forget to visit the Uffizi museum in Florence and the Vatican museum in Rome, in which you can admire the wonderful Sixtine Chapel, painted by Michaelangelo.
So, have a nice journey!
